Own a Dairy Cow
The TrueFields Cowshare program is now filling spots for herd ownership. A cowshare allows a consumer to own and board a dairy cow where the cow is cared for, fed, and milked daily. Our cowshare program allows you to purchase a share of our herd of Shorthorn cows. There is a monthly boarding fee and you are entitled to receive a percentage of the weekly milk production equal to your ownership in the herd.
We test quarterly for common milk pathogens such as E. Coli, Salmonnella, Lysteria, and Staph, and we also test for coliform bacteria to ensure that our cleaning practices are exceptional. The milk goes straight from the cow into a stainless steel enclosed bucket, and is then filtered and poured directly into new, plastic milk containers. It is then chilled and is ready for pickup.
