Pampered Pork Sale
Have you ever had real pastured pork? One reason our pigs are different from conventional pigs, which are raised in confinement houses, is that our pigs are raised exclusively on pasture and in the forest and enjoy stress- and chemical-free lives with a variety of foods to eat. We feed our pigs a non-GMO grain mix, fresh veggie scraps, and raw milk. In addition to this high-nutrient diet, the pigs spend a big part of their day rooting around for grubs, roots, and nuts in the pastures. You'd be hard pressed to find pigs that are as tasty and that are raised as healthily and naturally as ours.
Our pampered pigs have been wonderfully productive this year, and we currently have over 20 little piglets running around in the sunshine, learning to root like their mammas. Did you know that pigs will till and fertilize your garden plot for you free of charge? That's what we've been using our "pork-plowers" for. They're working on our spring garden now!
We plan to process pork toward the end of summer (around September) and are currently taking orders so that we can plan next season's breeding schedule. We aim to process when hanging weight is roughly 180-220 pounds, and you'll bring home approximately 70% of the hanging weight, depending on how much you choose to keep (skin, fat, organs, etc). There are two purchasing options:
- Half a pig: $4.75/lb hanging weight
- Whole pig: $4.50/lb hanging weight
We require a deposit of $150 to reserve a half or whole pig. After you place your order with us via phone or email, mail checks to:

This price includes all processing and additional fees, and you can pick up the final product from the butcher in Marshall. You can also customize your order through the butcher and choose your cuts, including whether you want the skin on the hams, how much ground or sausage you'd like, how thick you want the chops, if you want cured meats, and if you want to keep organs, fat, bones, etc. Once dropped off at the butcher, pickup is within a week, but if you want cured meats it will be 3 weeks later. The butcher offers breakfast sausage, and cured ham and bacon, or you can have these cuts fresh if you'd like to prepare them yourself.
Many of our customers collaborate with friends and family to take advantage of bulk pricing, so pass the word on to others!
We expect the porkers to sell quickly, and we won't be processing again until January 2011 at the earliest, so contact us soon if you are interested!
Don't pay grocery store prices for an animal that has spent its whole life on a filthy concrete slab and has never had the opportunity to bask in the sunlight or wallow in a fresh, cool pond. Choose to buy local and natural; in the process, you'll bring home healthy vitamin- and mineral-filled foods offered at a great deal! We invite you to come and visit to see our pork operation for yourself-then you can judge whether it meets YOUR food-production standards. You'll get to see how these little porkers help maintain a productive, healthy ecosystem here in east Texas. Call to set up a visit!
